Field Grown Material

For my field growing operation the trees spend a year or two in pots to set up the nebari and movement for future success. After this pines go in root control bags and into the ground for at least 2 to 6 years. This allows for all the roots to be collected when dug making for quicker progress on its journey to become a bonsai.

The deciduous trees also spend two years in pots. I then replant them on tiles that are barried only a few inches below the ground. This helps with the quality of nebari when dug back up and the trees can then be planted in shallower pots when dug.I currently have planted  trident maple, Chinese elm, bald cypress, pomegranate, satsuki azaleas and dogwood but I am constantly looking for new varieties to add.
